Caring for Vertical Blinds

Fabric Verticals

Fabric vertical blinds require only periodic dusting or vacuuming to keep them looking new.

Dusting - Stroke lightly with a feather duster or clean, soft cloth.

Vacuum lightly - A vacuum cleaner brush attachment may also be used for removing dust.

Sponge or Spot Cleaning - Do not wash or dry clean fabric blinds. Fabric vanes are coated to ensure vanes hang straight. Washing may result in the coating being removed. Do not use ammonia cleaners on or near the fabric.

Ultrasonic Cleaning - Fabric verticals can be ultrasonically cleaned by a professional. If using this service, a mild detergent solution must be specified. The headrail cannot be immersed in the solution.

Vinyl (PVC) and Aluminum Verticals

Dusting - Stroke lightly with a feather duster or clean, soft cloth.

Vacuum lightly - A vacuum cleaner brush attachment may also be used for removing dust.

Sponge or Spot Cleaning - Vinyl and aluminum blinds can be wiped clean with a damp cloth or sponge. Leaving a very thin film of detergent on each vertical vane will reduce buildup of static electricity. Do not use cleaning methods involving heat, bleach, abrasives or solvents. Drying with a cloth towel eliminate water marks.
