Caring for Window Coverings

Your window coverings are designed to give you years of service. It is important to know what kind of window covering you have in order to know how best to care for it.

It is best to use the products and procedures recommended by the manufacturer. However, below are some hints as to what you can do to help your window coverings remain as beautiful as the day they were installed.

Regular Care - All Types of Window Coverings

Dusting - Generally, a light dusting with a feather duster will suffice in most circumstances for all types of window coverings.

Vacuum - For a more thorough dust removal, all window covering styles may be lightly vacuumed with a vacuum brush attachment. A hand-held vacuum with a low suction is recommended.

Compressed Air - Alternatively, dirt and debris can be blown away using compressed air (safe for all window covering styles except luminettes) or a hand-held dryer on the COOL setting (safe for all window covering styles except Luminette, Silhouette and wood blinds and shutters).

Whatever method is used, care must be taken to avoid damaging the window covering materials.
